company says that the surge in Ebitda and Pat (profit after tax) margin is borne
out of robust revenue growth from advertising and incremental revenue from direct-to-home
(DTH) subscription. From
February the company has increased its ad rates and slot fees (broadcast fees)
recieved from the content producers. On
a stand alone basis, Sun TV Network's net profit stands at Rs 3.66 billion, a
surge of 32.8 per cent from Rs 2.46 billion in the last fiscal. Total
income has increased to Rs 9.25 billion in FY08, from Rs 7.26 billion in the year
ago period. In
April 2007, Sun TV Network launched a Tamil kids channel Chutti TV. In August,
the company's subsidiary South Asia FM entered into strategic alliance with Red
FM to further its FM radio broadcasting business in the North, West and East Indian
markets. |
