A
company release claims that GlobeCast has
completed the next phase of its American
HD strategy with the installation of new
encoding and converting equipment at its
broadcast center in California, US. This
latest upgrade will mean that all GlobeCast’s
facilities in the US will be fully HD capable.
GlobeCast
can now receive and process HD signals into
any international format. It can also down
convert to standard definition (SD) and
deliver the signal worldwide using a combination
of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 HD/SD compression.
