Foundry Networks, today announced that Big Animation (India)
Private Limited, the animation arm of Reliance ADAG, has installed
Foundry BigIron RX backbone and FastIron Series Layer 2/3
switches into its high-performance 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GbE)
animation production network.
The
BigIron RX switch, fitted with the MRJ21 line card modules,
provides a high-density platform to deliver high performance
connections to the artists, servers and redundant 10GbE uplinks,
claims Foundry.
Big Animation’s animation production network utilizes
hundreds of processors to create a high performance computing
(HPC) environment completely connected by Foundry networking
solutions to create highly advanced visual effects.
Big
Animation currently leverages a BigIron RX Series backbone switch and multiple
FastIron®family of compact layer 2/3 switches to back its 10GbE production
network core. Big
Animation CEO Ashish S K said, " Since our network mandates superior performance
and high scalability, it was important for us to partner with a technologically
stronger networking vendor with a complete end-to-end solution set. Non-blocking
and wire-speed performance at very high port densities are critical for us and
