UTV Movies inks syndication deal with Star for 17 films

MUMBAI: UTV Movies has acquired 21 movie titles, with 17 coming as part of a syndication deal with Star.

The movie titles coming from Star include Jhankar Beats, Jism, Hu Tu Tu and Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi, among others.

According to the deal with Star, UTV Movies can air these films more than twice.

UTV Movies has also acquired four films. These include My Name is Anthony Gonsalves from Sahara One Motion Pictures, Sirf from Seven Eagle Productions, Naina and King of Bollywood from iDreams Productions.

Both My Name is Anthony Gonsalves and Sirf will be aired on 6 June and 27 June in the 'Shan-E-Sukravara' slot. UTV Movies' 'Shan-E-Sukravara' slot airs every Friday at 8.30 pm.

UTV Movies will also premiere Halla Bol in July.

UTV Global Broadcasting Limited (UGBL) executive director Shantonu Aditya said, "Within three months of launch, UTV Movies has brought viewers wholesome entertainment. To keep the momentum going, we are on an aggressive acquisition path with some more announcements expected shortly."
