MUMBAI: Time Warner, Sprint and Verizon, the three largest internet service providers
(ISP) in the US, have come in consensus with New York state attorney Andrew Cuomo
to block web connections for child pornography.
The
three ISPs have agreed to purge their servers of all child pornography websites
identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said a statement
released by Cuomo's office.
Apart
from this, the companies also agreed to pay $1.125 million to help fund efforts
to remove child porn from the Internet. The three ISPs will implement a new system
to rapidly respond to user complaints about child pornography.
