MUMBAI: BigBand Networks, which specialises in video networking, is demonstrating switched digital video innovations at KCTA 2008.

KCTA is Korea’s interactive digital cable television conference and exhibition, currently being held in Busan.

At the conference, BigBand will demonstrate switched digital video, a solution that enables expanded HD and SD programme choices. It will also unveil customisations for Korean cable markets.

Furthermore, the company will also display its switched video Analysis (SVA) application that aim at helping operators optimise SDV lineup selection, improve bandwidth efficiency and perform capacity planning, monitoring and troubleshooting.

BigBand will also preview functionality that leverages switched unicast, a variation of switched digital video, to match advertisements to the interests of individual subscribers.

Additionally, during the four-day KCTA conference, which ends on 14 June 2008, BigBand will host an advanced video technology summit for all leading cable operators in Korea.
