Graphiti School rolls out PG course in animation

MUMBAI: Graphiti School of Animation, a training institute in animation education, has added Graphiti - Course in Animation Technology (G CAT) Master to its curriculum.

G CAT Master is a post graduate course in animation, designed for Art graduates who have completed their education in fine arts, commercial or applied art or any equivalent course of study, claims the institute.

The full time course is spread across 12 months with four semesters. It will focus on the pre-production processes of animation in film making. The course will see workshops like puppetry, drawing, acting, film making and film review sessions. The spotlight of G CAT Master will be on concepts and art of animation film making.

This course also aims to explore the animation pre-production skills of conceptual illustration and visual development. Students will have to apply their knowledge of drawing, storytelling, and composition to create drawings for animation. They will also review compositional systems, design process, and illustration techniques. The emphasis would be on animation styling, character design, layouts, storyboards and technical processes involved in creating visual assets for animation.

The first three months will be foundation followed by one month of animation film making. After these two semesters, six months will be given to animation film design and animation film pre production will be taught for remaining two months.
