MUMBAI: In an effort to combat the increasing competition from DirecTV, Dish Network
Corp and Verizon's FiOS TV service, Cablevision will add 15 new High-Definition
channels starting this month-end.
The
New York-based cable company will launch all the channels on 28 July and will
make them available to its entire service area by 1 August.
The new channels are Nickelodeon, WE tv, AMC, Animal Planet, The Weather Channel,
Travel Channel, Fox News Channel and Discovery Channel among others.
This
makes the total count of channels with Cablevision to 60.
