MUMBAI:
Beefing up its non fiction content, Sony Entertainment Television
(Set) is preparing to launch another dance based reality show,
Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar.
Produced
jointly by Balaji Telefilms and Popcorn Entertainment, the
bi-weekly show will kick off on 9 July at 8 pm and will air
on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It will replace Waar Pariwaar
and Naye Roop Nayi Zindagi on Wednesday and Thursday
respectively.
Waar
Pariwaar will become a bi-weekly and will be aired only
on Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm.
Kabhi
Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar will see celebrities performing
with their real as well as reel life partners.
Set
business head and EVP Albert Almeida said, "Dance based
reality shows have an emotional, dramatic and visually appealing
side to it. However in Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii
Yaar, viewers will witness for the first time the actual
chemistry between favourite star and his reel/real life partners."
The
one-hour show will air for seven weeks. In the first episode,
the celebrity will perform with their respective spouses and
in the second episode they will perform with their on-screen
partners.
From
the second week onwards, one trio will get eliminated till
the last two trios are left to compete for finals.
The
channel has roped in filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, choreographer
Ganesh Hegde and Sameera Reddy as judges for the show. The
show has kept away the viewer's voting and marks will be strictly
decided by the judges.
The
last two celebrities in each episode will have to choose one
of his or her partners, depending on the marks that they get
from the judges.
Set AVP Danish Khan said, "A lot of flavour will be generated
on the show as the trios are real as well as reel life partners.
The turning point will be when each one will have to choose
either of their partners. Besides we are also expecting Ekta
to get in some more spice as all the participants act in her
fiction shows."
The
big ticket reality show will see trios like Hiten Tejwani-Gauri
Pradhan-Nandini Singh, Kashmera Shah-Krushna-Mukul Dev, Amit
Sarin-Vinisha Sarin-Aashka Goradia, Karnvir Bohra- teejay
