MUMBAI: UTV has tied up with Japan-based IPTV service provider The New Media Group (TNMG) to offer two of its channels on the IPTV platform.

Hindi movie channel UTV Movies and business channel UTVi will be available on TNMG’s IPTV platform ‘World On-Demand’ from 1 August.

The channels will be available to the viewers in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. They will be offered in Community Packages for the subcontinent community subscribers of World-On-Demand as well as in the World News Pack and Asian Culture Pack.

UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd executive director Shantonu Aditya said, “We are pleased to announce the launch of our channels on the World On Demand platform. TNMG has created a first-rate and progressive platform in the emerging media landscape and it is encouraging for us to be a part of the momentum at which, IPTV is turning into an alternative content delivery mode.”

“This offering is a good way for TNMG to take our message of cross cultural content into multiple communities. Our subscribers from other communities are sure to like UTV’s channels,” added TNMG president Randy McGraw.
