MUMBAI:
Star World, which has aired music based reality shows like
Rock Star in the past, will add a new one to its line
up.
The
English general entertainment channel will premiere the reality
show America's Got Talent on 9 July, at 9 pm.
Created
by American Idol judge Simon Cowell, every week an
array of performers - including comics, dancers, singers and
magicians - will showcase their unique talents before a trio
of no-nonsense judges. The wannabe stars have only a precious
few seconds to impress judges David Hasselhoff, Brandy and
Piers Morgan and win over the viewers. In the end, the American
public will vote for which performer takes home the million-dollar
prize.
The
channel will also premiere the offbeat comedy It's Always
Sunny in Philadelphia on 11 July at 8.30 pm. The series
revolves around four egocentric pals: Mac (the show's creator
Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton)
and Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson) who run an Irish pub in a seedy
part of Philadelphia. Although the three guys want their business
to thrive, they spend most of their time finding ways to pick
up women or scam one another. Tune in to find out why this
show is a laugh-out loud riot on Fridays, 8.30 pm.
Also
in store is the drama series Blood Ties. Based on the
best-selling novels by Tanya Huff, Blood Ties mixes
supernatural suspense and fantasy-filled romance and premieres
on 11 July at 10 pm.
Crime
series Killer Instinct premieres on 18 July at 1 am
featuring stories behind some of San Francisco's most heinous
crimes.
