MUMBAI: In an attempt to strengthen its evening weekday and weekend viewing, INX Media’s 9X is set to launch the second season of the comedy series Remote Control.

Apart from this, the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) is also planning to launch three new shows to fill the evening slot.

9X will put off air Jiya Jale and Mere Apne, two daily soaps that were launched in November last year.

INX Media founder and CEO Indrani Mukerjea said, "Mere Apne and Jiya Jale will always have a special place in our hearts as they were our launch shows. But like everything else, shows also have a start and a finish. I would very much like to get Mere Apne and Jiya Jale back as second seasons at the appropriate time. Meanwhile, our team at 9X is gearing up for the new launches.”
