BANGALORE: Guruji.com announced the launch of its music search engine in India.

Guruji Music Search is available for free at www.guruji.com/music and will cater to Indian music lovers searching for music on the Web. The Music index has songs ranging from 1932 till date, across all major Indian languages.

A release claims that unlike many music portals, the music available through Guruji.com is not limited either to recent songs or greatest hits. In addition, the site also furnishes the listings of top songs, singers and albums.

Users can search for a song by the song’s lyrics, singers, movie/album, actors and music directors or even a combination of them. The search engine gives you music results for songs right from 1932 onwards. The search results are limited by the number of Indian songs that are available on the internet and the sensitivity of guruji.com’s search algorithm.

“ India has a rich and varied cultural heritage and the influence of music on Indians is tremendous. We believe this service will appeal to all Indians, in India and outside, who are avid lovers of music – be it Bollywood songs or Bhajans. The Guruji Music search can conjure up a tune to satiate every music lover’s palate," said Guruji.com CEO and co-founder Anurag Dod.
