MUMBAI: UTV youth entertainment channel Bindass has announced Hass Ley India Comedy Gang War auditions from 14 January.

Bindass will hunt for a gang of comedians across cities like Kolkata on 15 January, Ahmedabad and Lucknow on 17 January and Mumbai and Delhi on 19 January. The Gang who wins the comedy gang war will get an opportunity to act in a UTV Motion Pictures movie.

Shekar Suman and Makarand Deshpande will judge the show hosted by Mantra and Anirudh. The six-week contest will be sponsored by Idea Cellular.

Speaking about the contest, Bindass CEO Zarina Mehta said, "Everyone enjoy, chill out and feel secure with their gang. Thus an idea of making a youth centric comedy contest with a gang came into picture and we are looking for fresh talent scattered in India."

Bindass vice president head of content and operations Raman Chibb said, "All the gangs will perform for 3-4 minute and based on viewers SMS voting and judges marks, one gang will be chosen as winner."

"During the six weeks we will also show the clippings of participants' preparations during breaks," added Chibb.

On his role as a judge Shekhar Suman said, "Makrand and I share a vast theatrical experience and after judging the Laughter Challenge, this gang war will be a great experience. This I hope will be a street fight comedy show with lots of Bindassiyat."
