NAB opens up entries for 2008 Broadcasting Excellence Awards

MUMBAI: The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in the US has announced that it is accepting entries for the NAB 2008 International Broadcasting Excellence Awards.

The awards will be presented during the NAB Show in Las Vegas which takes place from 11-17 April 2008.

Established in 1995, the International Broadcasting Excellence Awards recognise NAB international broadcast members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and uniqueness in successfully serving their audience through broadcast innovation or service to community. To enter, NAB international broadcast members must submit an entry form by 11 February 2008.

Last year's winners were Radio Haifa 107.5 FM and Play 99.6.

The NAB Show will cover the development, delivery and management of professional video and audio content across all media. Charles Osgood, who anchors CBS News Sunday Morning and CBS Radio Network's The Osgood File, will be honoured with the NAB Distinguished Service Award.

The event will also have conferences for professionals. These include Broadband TV World, Broadcast Engineering Conference which takes place across six days, Broadcast Regulatory and Legislative Conference, Digital Cinema Summit and Digital Tech Guru Workshop.
