DELHI: Top-level recruitments for the Triveni channels are
on and former editor, Today (now Mail Today)
Ravishankar has joined the group as managing editor, lifestyle,
and will possibly work for the English news channel, sources
say.
Among
the other industry veterans roped in by Triveni are Alok Verma
as managing editor, and Jaideep Goswami as HR head.
Both
Goswami and Verma are ex-Aaj Tak top guns, and while Goswami
ran the Hindi channel's HR department, Verma headed the Media
Institute of Aaj Tak.
A
lot of the Triveni top recruitments are from the Living Media
Group, and includes Rahul Kulshreshta, who was the technical
head at Aaj Tak and joined Triveni Media as CEO last year.
Earlier
last week, Subramanian Iyer, national head (sales and marketing)
of Raj TV was roped in as EVP, Triveni Media.
Ravishankar
is known for his considerable expertise in lifestyle affairs
and had devoted much of the middle section in Today
on them. He
later shifted to run Spice, the group's lifestyle magazine,
on a full-time basis.
Triveni
Media will launch two news channels, one in English and the
other in Hindi, in March this year, followed by as many as
eight regional news channels, sources say.
Over
the next 30 months, Triveni plans to launch 19 channels.
