MUMBAI: Cartoon network has roped in Nickelodeon's Adina Pitt to the position of VP content acquisitions and coproductions.

In her new role, Pitt will be responsible for identifying, negotiating and acquiring pre-produced series, specials, movies and shortform product that fit the Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands.

Pitt will be based in New York and report directly to chief content officer of Cartoon Network Robert Sorcher.

"Adina has a sterling reputation within the international television community and is identified as one of the best in the industry, which makes her the ideal choice to head up acquisitions and coproductions for Cartoon Network," said Sorcher. "She's extremely savvy about brand positioning, and has a keen eye for finding properties that build upon a network's consumer identity."

Previously, Pitt was VP of acquisitions for Nickelodeon and MTV Networks Kids and Family Group, where she supported current and long-term programming plans for Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr, Nick at Nite, The N and Noggin.
