MUMBAI:
Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony (GFCH) will be
officially launched on 22 January in New Delhi as a global
initiative for conflict avoidance with Indian and Eastern
perspective. Former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and
Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama would be the chief guests
at the formal launch.
The
launch function is being hosted by trustees of GFCH India
including Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra, former intelligence
bureau director Ajit Doval and former Delhi Lt governor Vijai
Kapoor.
Hindu
Dharma Acharya Sabha convenor Swami Dayananda Saraswati will
preside over the function along with the other spiritual leaders
participating as guests of honours. The Art of Living movement
head Sri Sri Ravishankar, Mumbai archbishop cardinal Oswald
Gracias, yoga guru Swami Ramdev, Deoband Islamic school head
Dr Mahmood Ali Madani, Chinmaya Yuvak Kendra director Swami
Mitrananda, Gnanapeedam head Paramahamsa Nithyananda, Jain
Muni Sumer Malji, Delhi Jewish Synagogue Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac
Malekar and Akal Takht chief Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti
are expected to grace the launch.
In
addition, some noted intellectuals, academics including vice-chancellors
of several universities, thinkers, professionals, businesspersons
and activists from across the country and the world will attend
the event.
A
launch book 'Transcending Conflicts - Indian and Eastern Way',
will also be released on the launch day.
