Hyderabad to be first digital entertainment city of India

MUMBAI: The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to set up digital entertainment city in Hyderabad with gaming firms and production houses.

 

The project will be India's first digital entertainment city having animation companies, film production houses, and music and television studios along with entertainment complex.

 

It will be established in association with FX Labs, Suresh Productions, Gemini TV and DQ Entertainment. A special purpose vehicle, digital entertainment city task force (DECTF), will manage the project.

The aforesaid companies and production houses will also open academy to offer courses in digital entertainment for which work will begin in June. The first face is expected to be ready by December.

The proposed digital city will also have incubators for start-up companies to make and test their products.

The government will allot 100 to 200 acres of land for the project that DECTF will manage.
