NEW
DELHI: HT Media Ltd. reported a 10 per cent net profit rise
in third quarter results for the 2007-08 fiscal in comparison
to the same period the year before.
A
spokesperson of the group claimed that this was due to better
advertising revenue growth.
The
New Delhi-based publisher of English newspaper Hindustan Times
reported a net profit of Rs 369 million on net sales of Rs
3.2 billion between October and December of last year, while
sales rose 16 per cent.
The
media company's ad revenues grew 18 per cent during the fourth
quarter to Rs 2.75 billion, with events also contributing
to the revenues.
According
to Group vice chairperson Shobhana Bhartia, the performance
during the quarter had been encouraging with ad revenues growing
well ahead of the industry. HT Media launched in Bangalore
its third edition of business daily Mint and bought social
networking site Desimartini.com during the last quarter of
2007.
