MUMBAI: Canada-based broadcaster Corus Entertainment has announced a content distribution rights deal with Nickelodeon.

The deal will see Nickelodeon properties across all forms of media and platforms this year.

Through Corus, MTV Networks International plans to place Nickelodeon animated television series in the hands of viewers through multiple channels of digital distribution. It is a multi-year broadcast partnership extension that encompasses all digital rights for Nickelodeon and related brands. Emerging into the digital space at break-neck speed, Corus is looking to get a handle on multi-platform property management.

"Corus has enjoyed a successful relationship with Nickelodeon for many years, but this venture takes our partnership to a whole new level," Corus Entertainment president television Paul Robertson commented in a press note.

"By enriching the interactive experience with Nickelodeon content, we're dialling up audience's involvement, which, in turn, builds viewer loyalty. Viacom has made an extraordinary commitment to digital content, which Corus can leverage successfully with our strong television brands and advertiser relationships," added Robertson.

Including all of Nickelodeon's hit cartoon titles such as El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and Dora the Explorer, the extension covers content distribution through broadcast, broadband, mobile, video-on-demand, pay-per-view, electronic sell-through and gaming, all under one agreement.
