MUMBAI:
A new music company, Swiss Music released its debut album
Dard Bolta Hai- Sun Zara at its launch in Mumbai on
Wednesday.
The
event was graced by veteran composer Ravindra Jain, who launched
the company's first album featuring new singer Rahul Verma.
Swiss
Music GM Ranjeet Singh told radioandmusic.com, "We have
big plans for the year ahead. An investment of Rs 60 million
is planned for the year, out of which Rs 26 million would
be spent on publicity and rest in buying rights and in production.
We have also thought of promoting spiritual and classical
genres as we expand."
The
company is planning to pick up and promote new talent. "Talent
is what we seek, no matter from which corner it is - talent
which otherwise may not get opportunity," added Swiss
Music CEO S R Nandan.
GM
Singh is a music industry veteran who has previously worked
with Tips and Polygram. The company has plans to acquire music
rights of big films, a source informed. He also added that
talks are on with a film starring Ajay Devgan. In addition,
the company is in the process of tie-ups with retail stores
like Planet M, Rhythm House, Music World and others across
the country for the distribution.
