MUMBAI: UK soccer club Arsenal will launch its TV channel on 14 January through Setanta Sports, initially on the Sky platform, channel 423.

Production company Input Media will create and package all the channel content, which includes a mix of lively studio shows, magazine formats and archival programming.

The channel will initially run Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 11.15 pm, and feature shows dedicated to big match analysis and previews, with high profile presenters such as ex-Gunner Bob Wilson, popular broadcaster-writer Tom Watt, and pop legend Shovel from M People.

Input Media will produce the news and stories behind all the competitions that Arsenal teams are involved in, including Premiership and Uefa Champions League campaigns, live coverage of pre-season matches and reserve games, club features, and high points from the club’s archive of matches.

Other Arsenal TV highlights include news round-up show Arsenal Today, all the club’s key matches in full on Action Replay, classic matches from the past on Arsenal Gold, interactive shows for supporters via phone, text and email on Fans Forum, news of Arsenal Ladies and the celebrated Academy, plus profiles on all of Arsenal’s top premiership stars.

Input Media also produces the Big Screen operation at the Emirates stadium, and was instrumental in the design and installation of the club’s HD facilities at the stadium last year.

The company's MD David Wood says, “The channel’s live launch programmes and the production of Arsenal TV is a prestigious contract for Input Media, and confirms our position as the major independent supplier of programming to FA Premier League clubs.”
