MUMBAI:
After offering a lot of "saas-bahu" sagas, SaharaOne
Television has announced the launch of a supernatural show
based on an "ichchadhari naagin," Neeli Aankhen.
The
show will kick off on 9 February at 9:30 pm every Saturday
and Sunday.
SaharaOne Television programming head Kalyan Sundaram said,
"Through Neeli Aankhen, we want to offer our discerning
viewers a different genre of programming on weekends cutting
away from the staple feed of family dramas. We are confident
that this show will appeal to our viewers immensely."
Neeli
Aankhen is the story of Vaishali, an "icchadhari
naagin" who, after being blessed with "icchadhari"
boon, comes to earth and faces negative forces. Eventually,
she falls in love with Rahul who is the son of Rajan Oberoi,
one of the richest industrialists in the city.
Since
childhood, Rahul has developed an intense phobia for snakes.
Nightmares of hundreds of snakes crawling over him torment
him night after night. The irony is that he is unaware of
the fact that the girl he wants to marry is an "icchadhari
naagin," a woman who can turn into a snake at her will.
The
show is produced by Shiv Creations and directed by Shyam Ramsay.
The
show has a star cast including actors like Sonia Kapoor, Deep
Dhillon, Dellip Thadeshwar, Shahbaaz Khan, Faraaz Khan and
other stars such as Meena Ghai and Surendra Pal.
The lead role of snake-woman Vaishali will be essayed by a
cherubic, young and beautiful girl Rubina Sasihuddin, an official
release said.
