MUMBAI: BSNL has given an order of Rs 3.09 billion to Prithvi Information Solutions Ltd for supply of transmission equipment to help increase its network bandwidth.

To source the equipment and its customizing for BSNL, Prithvi has tied up with a Chinese telecom major, Huwei Technologies Ltd.

Prithvi will also be responsible for embedding the networking maintenance software (NMS), assembling, quality check, etc. along with the maintenance of the equipment for the next five years.

With this domestic order, Prithvi Info will mark its entry into the telecom space.

With its foray in RF engineering space, Prithvi stands to expand its service offering with the BSNL order. This will enable it to bid for software solutions projects in the Indian telecom space.
