MUMBAI: Fireworks International, the television distribution arm of US media company ContentFilm, has secured the international sales rights to White Pine Picture’s crime drama series The Border.

The Border follows the members of the elite Immigration and Customs Security (ICS) unit. These men and women face the most dangerous and complex border security cases. ICS agents see the best and worst of the world: international terrorists and drug smugglers, traffickers of illegal organs, enriched uranium and abducted children.

The show currently airs on CBC in Canada. The company says that the series’ strong, topical stories and visual style are resulting in good audience ratings that have been gaining weekly with the 25-54 demographic.

White Pine Pictures president Peter Raymont says, “We are delighted to be working with Fireworks International and are confident that The Border will flourish internationally as part of their growing successful drama catalogue. The series has built a large, growing audience in Canada over its first four weeks, and we look forward to closing international sales with Fireworks’ assistance.”

Fireworks International president Greg Phillips says, “The Border is the perfect fit to the Fireworks catalogue. We are thrilled to be working with Peter and his very talented team, and to be representing this compelling, timely and extremely well-crafted crime drama.”
