MUMBAI:
This is Bollywood, Channel [V] style. In a bid to woo viewers,
the channel has come up with an idea of making the first "live"
Bollywood movie titled Andaz Apna Very Hatke.
The
20-minute film is scripted, directed and produced by the channel.
Bollywood
actress Neha Dhupia, along with an international celebrity
whose name is yet to be revealed, will be in the lead. It
will also cast artists chosen through a nation-wide talent
hunt. All
this will culminate into a live flick on 2 March and will
also be released on the same date, making it the fastest-produced
film in Bollywood history.
Talking
about the movie, Channel [V] head honcho Amar K Deb said,
"[V] has always been a trendsetter in creating compelling
content in an otherwise cluttered and monotonous environment.
Audiences with this live flick will experience the magic of
Hindi cinema in a way that they never have before."
Channel
[V] VP and creative director Sheetal Sudhir said, "We
wanted to make something different. There are so many reality
shows, but nothing is different, so we thought lets do Bollywood
in [V] style."
The
short film has all the ingredients of a typical Bollywood
film - a zalim baap, a gareeb hero, one bheegi
bheegi heroine and a kameena villain without any
cuts, retakes or guarantees.
The
"live mini blockbuster" will be shot in Mumbai on
Sunday( 2 March) amidst selected audiences and will be aired
live on Channel [V] the same day at 9 pm.
Channel
[V] claims of pioneering initiatives since its launch - from
the launch of the first reality show on TV [V] Pop Stars
to the the first interactive show [V] Mobile Singer.
