MUMBAI: Media baron and Eenadu Group chairman Ramoji Rao today surrendered in Visakhapatnam in a criminal case filed at the South Indian port city.

The surrender was part of the anticipatory bail conditions set by Justice Swaroop Reddy of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday for Rao and his son Kiran.

The Andhra HC had issued the bail orders in a Visakhapatnam land case filed by M Krishna Varma against Rao.

Varma contends that the 517-sq yard land which Rao had surrendered for road widening at Seetammadhara in Visakhapatnam, actually belongs to him, and which Rao had given away without his knowledge.

Rao, however, had rubbished all the allegations saying the case against him is false and only meant to tarnish his image as a public figure.

He also said he had not surrendered any land belonging to Varma and was ready to cooperate with the investigating agencies in whichever manner they wanted.
