MUMBAI:DQ Entertainment (DQE) and Japan based Think Corporation have inked a co-production deal for approximately $ 24 million (Rs 960 million).

As per the MoU, the two companies will co-produce three animated high-end 3D CGI TV series and a direct-to-home Video/Feature Film.

The TV series and film will be released from 2009 onwards. The company says the MoU will enable both the companies to benefit from global exploitation and distribution of these intellectual properties.

DQE Chairman and CEO Tapaas Chakravarti said, “DQE is joining hands with Think Corporation to co produce three animation TV series and feature film for the global markets. We are very impressed with Think’s creative capabilities and there will be lot of synergies in our working together.”

The three high-end CGI TV series under consideration are Honeinu – Kun in the Makkura-Land, Love Rollercoaster and an untitled preschooler-targeted series. Also under consideration is the proposal to co-develop and co-produce direct to home video/feature film Coluboccoro.

Think Corporation CEO Yuji Mori said, “We are confident our joint productions will be well received globally. DQ with their strong production pipeline will compliment our creative capabilities very nicely.”

Recently, DQ Entertainment had signed a $25 million (Rs 1 billion) co-production deal with Percept Pictures. The three animated movies include two mythologies and a Bollywood masala.
