MUMBAI: Malayalam general entertainment channel Amrita TV has lined up special programming with a festive blend for Christmas.

The channel will usher in Christmas with live telecast of Mass on the midnight of 24 December from a prominent church in Trivandrum.

On 25 December, Amrita TV will have a bouquet of programmes starting with an hour-long special programme on the ‘importance of Jesus at 6.30 am in Udayamaritham, followed by classical music programme, Sruthilayam.

The channel has also created a tele-drama, Nalla Idayan, wherein contestants of Amrita TV’s earlier reality show Best Actor will come together at 9 am.

 
  

At 9.30 am, the channel will air Jingle Bells to revive the merry times associated with the festivities of Christmas.

The channel has lined up a special interview with Parvathy Omanakuttan, the first runner-up in the Miss World contest, at 1.30 pm.

Amrita TV will telecast special cookery show My Christmas at 2 pm, delving into the kitchen of an Anglo-Indian family to unravel delicacies of a different kind.

 
  
Also, Amrita TV will air two super hit movies Chitrakatha at 10 am and Inspector Garud at 3.30 pm.

Additionally, the music reality show for children, Super Star Junior, will also have special edition of X'mas songs at 8 pm.

The channel said in a release that throughout the day, the mini-screen will be replete with graphics and screeners to capture the X'mas spirit.
