NEW DELHI: Maharashtra with Goa leads with 934,351 connections out of a total of about 4.98 million all over the country.

Tamil Nadu comes next with 644,912 connections, followed closely by the National Capital Territory of Delhi with 588716 connections. Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have 569057 and 400663 connections respectively. The NCT includes Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

 

Andaman and Nicobar Islands were at the bottom 2282 connections (as on 31 October), while the North East states together had 14,202 connections, according to Communications and Information Technology Minister A Raja.

 
The north-east states include Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura.
