NEW DELHI: The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (Tdsat) has directed Prasar Bharati to restore signals of Zee Group’s three channels - Zee Smile, Zee Jagran and ETC Music - and also that of a regional broadcaster Enter 10 TV on its DTH platform DD Direct Plus.

Each channel, however, will have to cough out Rs 6 million as carriage fee to the state-owned DTH service provider, according to Tdsat's direction.

“Prasar Bharati is directed to restore the signals of the four channels, Zee Smile, Zee Jagran, ETC Music and Enter 10 TV within two days of payment of Rs 6 million as carriage fee,” said the Tdsat bench, headed by Justice Arun Kumar.

In its petition, Enter 10 TV and Zee had alleged that DD Direct Plus had disconnected signals. The broadcasters further submitted that the earlier carriage fee was Rs 2.5 million and Prasar Bharati had increased it to Rs 6 million.

The two broadcasters had approached Tdsat against DD Direct's move to increase carriage fee.
