MUMBAI:
BBC Worlwide is set to showcase contemporary drama at next
month's television trade event Asia Television Forum (ATF)
in Singapore. The event will be held from 10-12 December.
The
contemporary drama collection includes the dark crime thriller
Wallander, staring Kenneth Branagh. The series investigates
three sinister murder mysteries based on the novels by Henning
Mankell.
BBC
Worldwide's catalogue also includes Survivors and Being
Erica. Survivors talks about the story of a group
of lone survivors who are faced with the ultimate challenge
to simply survive - after a mysterious disease wipes
out the rest of the population. It stars Freema Agyeman and
Max Beesley.
According
to BBC Worldwide, Being Erica offers an alternative
lighter tonic to the darker dramatic offerings of Wallander
and Survivors.
In
the history genre, BBC Worldwide presents Moonshot,
a film that aims to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the
first lunar landing.
In
The Ascent of Money, historian and Harvard professor Niall
Ferguson questions the origin of money and tries to reveal
everything one needs to know about the same.
Life and South Pacific are two new natural history
series, both shot in HD. While Life, a ten-part-series,
looks at offering an exploration of the diversity of life
on Earth, South Pacific explores the "scale and
majesty" of the largest ocean on Earth.
As
far as children's content is concerned, In The Night Garden
will be on offer to broadcasters, along with the new title
Third and Bird.
Third
and Bird is an animated series that is targeted towards
children aged three and four.
