MUMBAI: Raj TV Network (RTN) is planning to launch news channels in the three southern languages. The company, which runs a string of general entertainment channels, recently launched a Tamil news channel.

 
  

The first in the line to launch is Telugu news channel as RTN already has a GEC presence in this market with its channel Vissa.

 
  

“We have invested close to Rs 300 million in the Tamil news channel. We are internally considering launching news channels in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. We will bring it up to the board,” says RTN founder-promoter Rajendran.

The Tamil news channel will break even in three years, Rajendran adds.

RTN bouquet of channels include Raj TV (Tamil GEC), Raj Digital Plus (movie channel) Raj Musix (music channel), Raj News and Vissa.
