MUMBAI:
FM stations are celebrating Independence Day with various
activities ranging from special programmes to corporate social
responsibilities (CSR) campaigns.
As
part of Red FMs endeavour to salute brave hearts, Red
FM has organised a special programme on 15 August. The station's
RJ Malishka and her team will be in Pune with war veterans
who have suffered injuries while India. The show will be broadcast
to listeners in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.
Red
FM COO Abraham Thomas says, Red FM is known for its
attempt to always bring to light things that need attention
under its initiative, 'Bajaao for a Cause'. On the occasion
of Independence Day, Red FM salutes the spirit of the war
heroes who have sacrificed all to defend our borders.
As
part of the on-ground initiative in Mumbai, Red FM is joining
hands with High Street Phoenix for a special activity titled
Ribbons of life.
The
event will also re-live the high points of Indian history
by showcasing Jawaharlal Nehrus 'Tryst with Destiny'
address on an Led Screen at the mall along with a special
display on the life of Mahatma Gandhi arranged by the Mani
Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya.
To
celebrate the festive spirit of Independence Day, Radio Mirchi's
Delhi station has lined up special initiative Azadi
ki special assembly. Especially crafted for the occasion
the station will create a look and feel of a school set up
in the on-air premises.
Radio
Mirchi will recreate an atmosphere of a special school assembly
from the chief guest speech to a school prayer, pledge,
march past, students singing patriotic songs, Independence
Day skits and flag hoisting. The station will also air a special
prayer at 9 am on the 'Hi Delhi' show for listeners.
Radio Mirchi chief programming officer Tapas Sen said, Independence
Day is all about learning patriotic values and reliving those
moments of struggle to achieve freedom. With our special programming
initiatives at Radio Mirchi, we would like to celebrate the
spirit of freedom and would also want to salute all those
people who have made it possible.
Radio
Mirchi's Mumbai station will celebrate I-Day with the morning
show 'Hi Mumbai' going live from the Colaba Army Infantry
Unit (grenadiers), where the RJ along with officers and jawans
of the Unit will interact on air with Mumbaikars.
In
addition, a Radio Mirchi music taxi organised by Mirchi team
will dedicate songs especially for the Army Infantry Unit
all through the day on August 15. Mirchi RJs will travel around
the Unit area to capture the colorful moods of the Jawans.
As
part of the special Sonu Nigam will play host and interact
with the Army personnel.
Meanwhile,
Fever FM's listeners in Delhi and Mumbai will get an oppurtunity
to go on air and have the freedom to say what they want and
play the music they want.
Listeners
of the Bangalore station will get to test their IK (India
Knowledge) on air, with questions based on India. Saffron-colored
questions are the toughest and green ones, the simplest. The
toughest questions answered correctly, get the biggest prizes
and listeners also have an option to double their money with
the 'chakra' question.
In
Kolkata, listeners will be tested on a mix of talents a freedom
voucher.
Fever
FM national programming director Gaurav Sharma said, "Keeping
in mind our philosophy of treating listeners in the most special
way, we wanted to reward them in a truly unique manner
not just with a regular giveaway".
