MUMBAI: The One Alliance distribution bouquet, a joint venture between Sony and Discovery, has elevated Amit Arora to the position of senior vice-president looking after sales, marketing, HR and affiliate relations.

Arora will be assisted by two other VPs - RVL Narasimhan and Rajib Mukherji. Himanshu Dhoreliya is VP business development and DTH business while Rajiv Bhargava is VP finance, legal and operations.

The rejig follows the exit of One Alliance head Gurjeev Singh Kapoor who quit to join Star Den as its chief executive officer.

Talking about the future of the company Sony CEO Kunal Dasgupta says, "2008 promises to be a great year for TheOneAlliance - with the spotlight on the Big IPL, the coveted acquisition of the New Zealand Board and enhanced programming content on the channels in the bouquet. TheOneAlliance promises an exciting, 'whole' experience for the consumers in keeping with its 'Best of Brands' philosophy.

Dasgupta notes that the company recently concluded a successful three-year innings with Ten Sports on 31 March, 2008. "We are keen to invest huge money to introduce more sports acquisitions in our bouquet and thus it was imperative to part ways and move on to greater challenges and scale new heights."

MSM Discovery (earlier Set Discovery) director Deepak Shourie says, "It fills me with pride to be part of this superb team, a handshake that has resulted in a long and successful partnership of over five years and which is now poised to take a great leap forward. We are elated to announce a further extension of our agreement for another five years."
