Big Music has announced its partnership with the Indian Premier League (IPL) team
Chennai Super Kings as the entertainment partner. Big
Music says that its foray into the IPL is one more glimpse of the strategic vision
of the company by moving beyond just a music distributor to a 360 degree home
entertainment specialist.
Big
Music will launch a music album in Tamil and Hindi that will
comprise the official theme song and victory anthem for the
Dhoni lead IPL Chennai Super Kings. The highlight of the album
is a song performed by Dhoni.
Big
Music and Home Entertainment CEO Kulmeet Makkar said, "Nothing
binds people more than cricket in India and we think that
IPL today is one of the best platforms for creating music
based products and services. Cutting across political and
geographical boundaries, the next few weeks will see the entire
country cheering for their respective teams. This is a fairly
large addressable audience and music adds that extra zing
to the combo of cricket and celebrities. This album will be
promoted on radio, television and on the Internet."
The
album consists of songs on celebration and victory and the
music inspires team spirit and motivates them bowl the opponents
over. The Chennai Super Kings Theme Song is a peppy RAP number
with a modern outlook and captivating lyrics in English and
Tamil. The rhythmic Adi Adi Nethi Adi written by Vairamuthu
urges the Chennai Super Kings as warriors, to set the field
ablaze and go for Glory.
The
third track Vetri Kodi Katta Vada is a call out to
Chennai Super Kings warriors to Go Bang at the Opponents.
Puyalaaga Vaa is a portrayal of Victory to the Chennai
Super Kings. As the team storms in to the field, the song
will drum up passion and a feeling of power in the listeners.
Big
Music will also launch a Hindi version of the Chennai Super Kings theme song.
"We have an entire promotional package and we will record a Hindi song performed
by Dhoni to take the charm and charisma of the Super Kings beyond Chennai"
adds Makkar.
The
company will help fans of Dhoni lead Chennai Super Kings own
a piece of cricketing history by marketing various merchandise
like CDs, music videos, mobile downloads in the form of ring
tones and caller tunes and interactive games.
