MUMBAI:
After filling up the one hour band from 10 pm, Sony Entertainment
Television is ready with a reality show to take up the early
prime time slot. This time it is a musical show called
Waar Parriwar, which is a singing competition between
the entire family.
Waar
Parriwar hits the screens on 28 April and will be aired
Monday to Wednesday from 8 pm till 9 pm.
Twelve
best musical families will compete for the title of 'Sangeet
Ka Gharana'. Each family on the show is a celebrity family
in their own region, city, town as far as the music is concerned.
Commenting
on the show, Sony Entertainment Television EVP and business
head Albert Almeida said, "Music is the universal language
that transcends all barriers. In a culturally rich country
like ours, it is music that brings families together. Be it
a wedding celebration, birth of a child, anniversaries or
festive celebrations, music plays an important role in bonding
people. Through this new musical show Waar Pariwaar
we hope to light up every home and heart and take family television
viewing to a new level."
Hosted
by Urmila Mtaondkar, the show will bring some of the stalwarts
from the music industry as judges every week.
It
also has two members from the singing family - Usha Mangeshkar
and Hridaynath Mangeshkar - as the resident gurus training
the participants.
The
first judge of the show is music composer Ismail Darbar and
his wife Ayesha Darbar.
The
show is produced and directed by Gajendrra Siingh's Saibaba
Productions.
