NEW DELHI: NewsX's website www.newsx.com, with the feature of self customised news content, has been uploaded and is available from 5.30 pm this evening, said NewsX COO Vynsley Fernandes.

The site is Web 2.0 compliant and has been developed by a special web team at NewsX, Fernandes added.

"What we mean by 'self-customised' is that the user can chose his or her own news. This is the first ever news website powered by an open source customer management system (CMS)," said Fernandes.

Most of the content on the site would be sourced from the NewsX channel and and from news wire agencies such as AP, AFP and PTI.

The site will carry news and articles covering varied categories like World, Nation, Lifestyle, Science, Technology, Sports, and more.

The technical team that has developed the interactive elements for the website is internationally reputed and has more than 10 years of Open Source programming experience.

Drupal, an Open Source CMS (Content Management System), powers the website.
