Radio Mirchi rearranges top level management

MUMBAI: Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL) has made changes at the apex management level.

For starters, Alok Purohit has been elevated as business evangelist, while Gautam Shahane has been made the head of content alliances at Radio Mirchi.

Purohit’s last assignment was as regional director of the central region at Radio Mirchi. In his new role, Purohit will work alongside the cluster heads and regional directors to personally coach and guide operation heads in smaller and new markets with effect from May 2008.

Shahane, who was earlier engaged in business development for Radio Mirchi,will lead the team in conceptualizing and providing innovative radio content and other specifically created content to mobile and Internet platforms.

He will work closely with Radio Mirchi chief programming officer Tapas Sen.

Furthermore, Prashant Chacko has been appointed as cluster head East at Radio Mirchi.

Chacko replaces Sriram Kilambi as the cluster head for the Eastern region. He is responsible for the Kolkata Station with a supervisory role of the Patna Station. He has worked with BPL Mobile and Airtel, covering the VAS domain in the line of music, m-commerce and messaging.

ENIL COO Nandan Srinath said, "This is an important time for Radio Mirchi as we have recently launched new stations across the country and are now focussed on growing our listener base. We are confident that Purohit, Shahane and Chacko will continue to lead Radio Mirchi from strength to strength. With their vast experience and technical expertise, they are sure to provide the leadership required to ensure that Mirchi fully capitalises on the tremendous growth that we anticipate in the radio industry over the next several years".
