LAS VEGAS: Viaccess, a European company for IPTV protection, has announced in the ongoing NAB2008 that it has signed three important contracts in India in last three months, strengthening its position in the country.

Viaccess has signed an exclusive contract with Purva TV, the entirely Bhojpuri channel. As per the deal, Viaccess will supply its latest generation BARCA cards for the security of the transmission of Purva TV's content by satellite towards the head-ends of the Indian cable operator.

Viaaccess has also signed an agreement with an independent cable TV network in North Delhi, Satcom Networks Cable TV, to secure its digital services.

Information TV in New Delhi also has selected the Viaccess protection system to secure the uplink of its Hindi channels to cable head-ends.

"Our solutions for digital pay TV and for the distribution of secured contents are sought after and used in many countries. The Indian market represents for us a major potential for development," said Viaccess CEO Francois Moreau de Saint Martin. "These contracts, signed in the last three months confirm our development in India and our will to occupy a major place on this expanding market."

Viaccess claims of deploying its services in 30 countries worldwide, on more than 80 digital platforms including multi-channel providers and digital content distributors.
