MUMBAI:
IMG head of global media Chris Albrecht and Andrew Glassman
who heads the US reality television production company Glassman
Media, have announced the formation of a multi-year partnership
to develop, produce and distribute original reality television
series and formats. Glasman has made shows like Average Joe
and Bingo America.
Under
the agreement, Glassman Media will develop and produce original formats for IMG
Global Media. Glassman will work closely with Albrecht and IMG Global Media programming
head Rob Lee.
IMG's financial investment in the partnership will fund the
company's joint project development across the television,
online and mobile spaces. Glassman Media will scale up its
production infrastructure to staff and produce the new projects.
IMG will distribute the partners' resulting formats and video
assets worldwide. The relationship also enables Glassman to
develop projects with IMG's worldwide network of leading sports,
fashion and entertainment talent and production partners.
Lee
said, "This agreement with Glassman Media is another important building block
in making IMG a fully integrated, worldwide entertainment entity. Andrew is an
exceptional talent in that he is equally at home in unscripted story and game
driven reality content." Glassman
says, "Partnering with Chris, Rob, and their team at IMG has been like joining
a dream-team for creative development and business execution. I am thrilled to
be a part of Chris and Rob's vision and their focus on quality."
Glassman
Media's previous studio deal at FOX Television Studios yielded
original formats that were sold and produced in more than
20 countries. The company's most recent production Bingo
America, a game show strip hosted by Patrick Duffy, began
its 40-episode primetime run on GSN on 31 March, 2008. It
is the first Glassman Media series to be distributed by IMG
under the new alliance.
