MUMBAI:
Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has launched
the general entertainment channel Sony Entertainment Television
(Set) and the anime network Animax in Portugal.
Both
channels are available via IPTV and DTH (direct-to-home) operator
MEO, part of Portugal Telecom.
Set
is also in talks with Portuguese operators for the carriage
of the channels.
Animax
and Set are two new additions to the already existing SPTI
chanel brand AXN, which has been running in Portugal since
2002.
The
Portuguese feed of the channel has launched with a mix of
diverse genres across TV series and movies. Some of the shows
include series like Friends, Sex and The City, The
Big Bang Theory, Medical Investigation, among others.
