DELHI: Triveni Media Ltd is going to launch VOI Millionaire,
a lifestyle channel aimed at the luxury brands.
"We
aim to launch the channel by May-end. The name of the channel
is VOI Millionaire," a source in the company says.
While
Triveni Media is the holding company, Voice of India is the
brand name under which various channels will be launched.
Triveni plans to launch a Hindi and a Bengali news channel,
among others.
Amar
Alvi, ex-Headlines Today, will be the channel head for VOI
Millionaire, the source adds. Renowned cartoonist Ravi Shankar
will be the managing editor of the channel.
The
channel has been shooting on exotic locations across the world
and has returned last month-end from Amsterdam from a shoot
on top-of-the-rung yachts and super deluxe hotels and resorts,
the source says.
Events
like the Lakme India Fashion Week would be top of the menu,
so far as Indian fare is concerned, but a lot of the programming
would be on luxury couture, cuisine, watches, perfumes, accessories,
etc.
