MUMBAI:
English movie channel Pix and Hyde Park Entertainment founder-CEO
Ashok Amritraj are looking for a screenwriter who will pen
the script to be directed by the winner of Gateway,
which deals with the search for a budding movie director
to take India to Hollywood.
Pix
and Amritraj have called for entries for the same.
Gateway
was conceptualised with the vision of providing a platform
for budding Indian directors to showcase their talent on an
international platform. Pix says that now, the vision expands
to the other most important aspect of making movies - scriptwriting.
Pix
SVP Sunder Aaron says, "We, at Pix, believe that there
is a sea of amazingly talented filmmakers in India. The call
for script writers for Gateway is our way of expanding the
opportunity for these filmmakers and giving them a chance
to delve deeply and give a voice and vision to their thoughts!"
Adds
Amritraj,
"I believe that a good script is one of the most essential
factors in creating a good film. The call for screenplay treatments
is aimed for moving away from the jargon of typical Bollywood
scriptwriters and tapping into fresh and innovative ideas
