MUMBAI: LG Electronics has launched LG Shine, the latest handset in its premium 'Black Label' series of mobile phones developed on total style in India.

The firm says that Shine is India’s first and only full metal bodied phone with a multi function scroll key.

LG Mobile Communications’ VP Asia, Middle East, and Africa Bo-Hwan Choi says, "2007 is the year to shine with style. The Indian market is one of our key markets, as it has the potential to grow at double digit rates annually. We are confident that this year we will have an even stronger presence in the market with our premium fashionable and advanced handsets and clear focus on stylish handsets, such as LG Shine. This launch signifies our commitment to be a leading mobile company."

LG India MD Moon B Shin says, "Last year, LG proved its capabilities in the mobile industry with hit models like the LG Chocolate phone, based on our unique insight into customer tastes.

"As the second handset under the Black Label series, LG Shine is set to capture the imagination of mobile phone users who crave for the perfect balance between design and technology. With an appeal that goes far beyond the simple requirement of owning a mobile, LG Shine has yet again raised the bar in the mobile phone market. With the launch of Shine, LG India will now aim to be amongst the top 3 premium handsets in India and increase their GSM market share to 3.41 per cent by first quarter of 2008."

Endorsed by Madonna, Pierce Brosnan and Kelly Osborne, Shine has a look and feel totally dissimilar to any previous handset, with a high technical specification. When closed, Shine has a reflective 2.2” wide mirror LCD screen which transforms into a high-quality colour screen when the phone is activated, while Shine’s keys appear in a cool blue shade.

The super slim (13.8mm Shine Slider and 9.9mm Shine bar) and sleek design defies its high-tech functionality which includes a 2 mega-pixel auto focus camera by Schneider Kreuznach and expandable memory (Micro SD card) Access to Shine’s menu system is by an easy-to-use multi-function scroll key.

Shine is also equipped with a media player with multi-codec support (MP3, WAV and ACC++) and real spectrum display. Shine supports GPRS and EDGE network compatibility, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and the most unique thing is it is all controlled by a multi function scroll key.
