MUMBAI:
Zee TV has announced the third season of its awards dedicated
to women achievers - Dabur Vatika Zee Astitva Awards 2007.
 The
jury for the awards comprises personalities like Rajashree
Birla, Simone Tata, Priya Dutt, ICICI Bank's Chanda Kochhar,
Sangita Jindal, Sathya Saran, Pheroza Godrej and Shreyasi
Goenka.
The
awards shall be given in diverse fields such as contributions
to the society in beauty and fashion, defense, police force,
finance and banking and journalism, amongst others.
According
to an official release, the differentiator between these awards
from other awards is the 'Stellar Achievement Award' which
aims to felicitate the 'everyday' common women who have made
a mark and contributed to society in their own small way.
This could include say a woman involved in starting a school
for mentally challenged children or helping build back the
livelihoods of the Tsunami victims by creating items out of
waste material.
 Last
year the Zee Astitva Award felicitated eminent personalities
in various fields including Ela Bhatt for social work, Neena
Gupta for television, Karishma Kapoor for films, Deepika Phadukone
for fashion, Dhondu Tai Kulkarni for literature, Shubha Mudgal
for music and Amrita Patel as business woman of the year,
to name a few.
