IBE Expo 2007 to kick off on 25 October in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The IBE Expo and Conference 2007 which is to be held at the Bombay exhibition centre between 25-27 October, has outlined the programme for the event. The event is organised by Indian Media Group and Audio, Video and Broadcasting Studio Systems.

The key themes at the conference represent significant business opportunities in India. They include - Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi, Cas digital cable delivery and DTH market development, mobile TV, HDTV and digital cinema.

 

The first of the three-day event will discuss global audience and viewership of the Commonwealth Games 2010. The session will take into account the challenges for broadcasters in sophisticated sports content development for delivery on all broadcast formats: Mobile TV, DTH, CAS and Digital Terrestrial, satellite and analogue cable delivery.

On the second day, the conference will see panelists discuss how the television business is emerging in India as the Indian market attempts to adopt the latest technologies and delivery scenarios alongside the developed markets of the US and Europe. Panelists from telecom companies will define the emerging digital television future in India across mobile TV, Cas and DTH, IPTV and broadband infrastructure.

 

The concluding day of the expo, themed under HDTV and digital cinema, will see the session discuss the advent of HDTV into Indian television. Panelists will present views and plans for HDTV by Indian TV channels and the technology cost implications. HDTV screen CE players and content producers and delivery system suppliers, who comprise the panel will try to find answers to how much TV content in India is on HD and whether Indian TV broadcasters are preparing for HD and is there a business model for HDTV rollout.

In this session, the introduction of digital cinema, its affordability, technology, origination, distribution and exhibition will be discussed.
