MUMBAI:
Star World is geared to revive its primetime television series
Desperate Housewives with the launch of the third season on
23 September at 9 pm.
Currently,
sporting the tagline 'Endowed by God, improved by silicon.
Everyone has a little dirty laundry," the series is among
the top shows for the channel, says Star India VP marketing
Prem Kamath.
In
the third season, the ladies of Wisteria Lane are kept busy
with impending marriages, new romances and crazy neighbours.
Bree (Marcia Cross) is about to tie the knot with Orson (Kyle
MacLachlan), the mysterious dentist who was last seen running
down local plumber Mike Delfino (James Denton) at the end
of the last season. Meanwhile, Lynette (Felicity Huffman)
quits her ad-agency job to help her husband run a pizza restaurant,
Susan (Teri Hatcher) finds love with an Englishman and Gabrielle
(Eva Longoria) prepares to take her cheating ex to the cleaners.
Apart
from the desperate regulars, the new season boasts galaxy
of guest stars, including Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible
II), Josh Henderson (Yours, Mine and Ours), Dixie Carter (Designing
Women) and Emmy-winning TV veteran Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne).
Season
three's main mystery revolves around Bree's new husband, Orson
Hodge. At the end of season two, Orson ran over Mike Delfino
for reasons unknown at the time. Suspected of cheating on
his wife, Alma (who is originally thought to be dead), and
killing a woman named Monique Pollier, Orson is placed under
constant suspicion from the housewives and some of the other
neighbours, especially Mike, who is the main suspect in Monique's
murder.
To
complicate matters, Orson's mother (Gloria Hodge) and Alma
come to Wisteria Lane and take matters into their own hands.
The housewives are brought together this season to comprehend
the mystery and put the pieces of Orson's past together, while
trying to sustain their individual lives that are causing
them much trouble.
