Pix taps into NBC Universal's catalogue

MUMBAI: English film channel Pix has concluded a new deal with US media conglomerate NBC Universal to bring its viewers more of the best that Hollywood has to offer.

This deal between Pix and NBC Universal will allow the channel to tap into the Universal library. Viewers will now be treated to more of the best movies from Hollywood including The Graduate, Do the Right Thing, The Birds, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and King Kong.

The Pix viewer will also get to enjoy works from directors like Spike Lee, Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick.

Pix business head Sunder Aaron says, "This tie-up with NBC Universal further expands our exceptional collection of movies and greatly contributes to Pix's ongoing mission to share good stories with our viewers. Recently, Pix has become the number two English movies channel in India's top six metros. The Universal titles will strengthen our position."

Pix head of programming Gitanjali Murari says, "I worked my damn fingers to the bone hand picking all the movies in this package. We are all very excited to get these films on our channel."
